I booked Sleep Taipei Hostel and had a restful stay at the place. There were 2 double deck beds in our room, the the place is quiet and clean. I was also surprised (and happy) to know that they have free breakfast served from 7am to 9am (bread plus strawberry jam/butter/garlic spread). They also provide free lemon tea and iced coffee for visitors who booked their stay at the hostel. They likewise have fridge where you can keep your food. Sleep Taipei hostel also have one desktop computer which is for public use.
Some of the places that I visited on my first trip to Taiwan are the following:
- Beitou Hot Spring – this is around Xinbeitou station. A bit far from Taipei City but worth the time going there. There is a small museum at the area, at the same time public library!
2. National Revolutionary Marty’r Shrine – This shrine honors the Republic of China’s war casualties. You can witness changing of guard ceremony, which, I believe, are scheduled every hour.
3. Night Market – never miss Taiwan’s night market. there are LOTS of choices and you might find it difficult to finally choose what to eat. If you can visit the market all nights you are in Taipei, please do so as you will never run out of tasty food to eat.
4. Longshan Temple – this temple is very near the night market thus I was able to visit this at the same time I went to night market.
