I have always loved to cook. It helps relieve my stress at the same time allow me to express myself.
Here’s a simple, not-so-sinful dessert that I love to bake. This is also the very first dessert that I tried to bake a few years back.
Ingredients:
3 cups quick-cooking or instant oatmeal
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (chocolate bar chopped)
1 can condensed milk
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 teaspoons vanilla
Preheat oven to 350F (approximately 15 mins).
Mix in a bowl oatmeal, sifted flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Using a mixer, cream together 1 cup butter (or margarine) with 2 cups brown sugar until fluffy.
Mix in the eggs and 1 tsp vanilla extract. Add in the flour mixture. Mix well.
In a separate pan (under low heat), melt 1 tsp butter. Add in 1 cup condensed milk and chopped chocolate bar (chocolate chip). Stir continuously until smooth. Set aside.
Take 70% of the flour-oatmeal mixture and press an even layer on the bottom of the baking pan. Spread the chocolate mixture evenly on top of the cookie layer.
Stir in the remaining mixture. Part of chocolate layer will still be exposed.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Let it cool before slicing into rectangular / square portions.
